The Runaway AI Train ~ May 26, 2026

The runaway train AI is currently occupying was set in motion centuries ago, fueled by fear.  Runaway trains have a tendency to head off the tracks and even straight for a cliff.  Had humanity valued spiritual maturity instead, imagine the miraculous future that path would have led to.  Yet here we are.  How can spiritual maturity help us now to meaningfully reflect on the pivotal topic of our era?

This episode also contains Susan's explorations of how the technological field in general and Artificial Intelligence software development in particular felt many years ago and how all of it feels now, in retrospect and in light of deeper wisdom.

With degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics (and early experience in AI language model development), writer, researcher, mystic and philosopher Susan Larison Danz, M.S., B.A., combines logic with spirituality in all of her endeavors, sharing a free-flowing authentic, intuitive and liberating perspective with listeners.

AI and Reality ~ May 19, 2026

Why are fundamental questions about how we define the nature of reality itself vitally important in our discussions of the "dangers" and "potentials" of AI (Artificial Intelligence)?   This very much includes spiritual perspectives, even while realizing those viewpoints can and do vary widely.  Are we considering the actual nature of consciousness or perspectives on the afterlife?

There are also variations in how we can view AI through a limited "materialistic" lens.  Strictly "materialistic" perspectives will never be sufficient because they do not acknowledge what even Alan Turing reluctantly observed regarding evidence of spiritual phenomena in our world.

The definition of "superintelligence" presumes that it is possible to develop technology that is superior in capability to human beings.  When one considers spiritual, intuitive perspectives, many of us will choose to disagree.

There also appears to be a common assumption that whatever "superintelligent" AI might do is oriented linearly in time, which is not theoretically expansive enough.  We see no evidence of AI developing non-linear "time traveling" or interdimensional capabilities - those "dangers" and "potentials" would have an impact on everywhere and in "everywhen", and from multiple species, not just "us", not just "here" and not only "in the future".

The catalyst for this particular episode was viewing The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist over the weekend.

This Is Not An Exercise ~ March 21, 2026

"This is my letter to the world,
That never wrote to me, . . ."
~ Emily Dickinson, J. 441

On a visit to social media this morning, I was reminded that today is World Poetry Day. I had already planned to create a new blog entry containing a poem I wrote Tuesday, and now it makes sense why I was delayed in doing so. . . .
